  • Dates: May 29-30, 2024; participants attend both days

  • Time: 8-4:00 PM each day

  • Location: Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 2210 W Republic Road, Springfield MO 65807

  • Intended Audience: Superintendents & Assistant Superintendents, Principals & Assistant Principals, Teachers

  • Hospitality: A grab-and-go breakfast will be included with lunch on your own each day.

  • Registration: This event is hosted by Springfield Public Schools with seats available for GOCSD Members. Staff from Springfield Public Schools do not need to register through GOCSD.

  • Fee for GOCSD Members: $385 for both days.

  • Substitutions are encouraged as refunds will not be provided.

  • Registration closes on May 16th.

Why Attend?

Join Springfield Public Schools as they host Lead Forward, a two-day event designed to support the needs of guiding coalitions for the greatest impact on student learning through the PLC Process. The experience includes hearing from four guest speakers each day on the following topics:

  • Differentiation and The PLC Process and the Four Questions led by Bill Ferriter

  • Instructional Agility and Formative Assessment led by Cassie Erken

  • Response to Intervention led by Emily Feltner

  • Behavior and Culture led by Tom Hierck

Bill Ferriter

William M. Ferriter uses his 29 years of experience as a full-time classroom teacher to design professional development sessions for educators on topics ranging from establishing professional learning communities and effective systems of intervention to integrating meaningful differentiation, extension, and student-involved assessment opportunities into classroom instruction.

Cassie Erken

Cassie Erken

Cassandra Erkens is the author of eight books with more currently in progress, as well as chapters in several anthologies. Additionally, she is a facilitator, a trainer of trainers, an educator, and a coach. Her work focuses on educational topics, including assessment, instruction, leadership, school improvement, and professional learning communities.

Emily Feltner

Emily Feltner

Emily Feltner, EdD, has over 30 years of experience at all levels in education. She works with schools and districts in the areas of leadership, literacy, and school improvement.

Tom Hierch

Tom Hierck

Tom Hierck has been an educator since 1983 in a career that has spanned all grade levels. He has been a teacher, an administrator, a district leader, a department of education project leader, and an executive director.

This event is organized and hosted by Springfield Public Schools. We appreciate this district providing seats for GOCSD Members. Staff from Springfield Public Schools do not need to register through GOCSD.
