  • Time: 8-4:00 PM each day

  • Location: Price Elementary, 518 North Hampton, Republic, MO 65738

  • Intended Audience: Principals & Assistant, Principals,

    K-8 Teachers, ESL Staff, Instructional & Tech Coaches, University Professors, Preservice Teachers

  • Lunch: Provided

This is event is hosted by Republic Schools with a limited number of seats available for educators from other districts. Registration closes June 30th. Staff from Republic Schools do not need to register through GOCSD.

  • GOCSD Members: $175 for both days.

  • Non-Members: $225 for both days

Cost of registration includes a CHAMPS text for each participant. Substitutions are encouraged as refunds will not be provided.

CHAMPS

CHAMPS/DSC is a proactive, positive, and instructional approach to classroom management designed to help teachers manage student behavior and increase student motivation. Participants will learn to organize their classrooms for student success, communicate clear expectations for student behavior, motivate students to do their best, and skillfully respond to student misbehavior. Cost of registration includes a CHAMPS text for each participant.

Senior Consultant and Trainer for Safe & Civil Schools

Tricia McKale Skyles began her career in education as a middle school teacher in Delphos, Kansas. After several years in the classroom, she began working as an instructional coach with Pathways to Success, a GEAR UP project that partnered the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning and Topeka Public Schools. In this role, Tricia provided on-site one-to-one professional development for teachers, coaching them in best teaching practices for instruction and behavior management.

She consults with many schools in all areas of behavior management, schoolwide interventions, and best instructional practices.
