Why Attend?

Classroom Management ranked as one of the top requests of this year’s GOCSD Professional Learning Needs Assessment so we are excited to partner with Republic School District to offer CHAMPS.

CHAMPS is a proactive, positive, and instructional approach to classroom management designed to help teachers manage student behavior and increase student motivation. Participants will learn to organize their classrooms for student success, communicate clear expectations for student behavior, motivate students to do their best, and skillfully respond to student misbehavior. Key components will include:

  • Structuring your classroom for success

  • Teaching students how to be successful in the classroom

  • Learning to observe student behavior

  • Interacting positively and correcting fluently

We encourage district teams to attend together to consider how this might be implemented at both the site and classroom level for student and educator success!

"Our school has found a lot of success through the implementation of CHAMPS. We want to continue the training for all new staff members at the junior high, but also want to open it up to veteran teachers who would be interested in the training."

Tim Butler

   Assistant Principal, Branson Schools

"Using the CHAMPS matrix has helped my classroom function seamlessly. Each student knows the expectations and they can always look at the visual posted in the room if they need a reminder. I love that for each part of my lesson, I have clear, consistent expectations. It is nice to use common language throughout our entire building. CHAMPS is highly effective and has been one of the best management tools in my classroom. I am looking forward to another year of continuing to use CHAMPS."

Andrea Oliver

   8th Grade Math, Branson Schools

"The CHAMPS training has greatly impacted my classroom in a positive way. It has provided a level of consistency and clarity to my students that have made a huge difference in my day-to-day operations."
