Description

β€œA teacher’s first year in the classroom is crucial. New teachers require time and professional guidance to become successful expert teachers. Without support, new teachers may not gain the confidence and knowledge necessary to continue teaching.” - Tina Boogren

In our roles as administrators, mentors, and coaches, we know the importance of our work with new hires. This collaborative community is designed to provide the support needed to be successful in the role of a mentor! The overarching goals include:

  • Establishing a collaborative network for individuals who support new teachers

  • Providing resources and support for those in this role

Foundations of Effective Teaching Series

As a part of our Foundations of Effective Teaching Series we also offer the Beginning Teachers Community for new teachers. The focus of this BTAP program is to build the capacity of beginning teachers through year-long professional learning and on-going support tailored to their needs.

Those who participate in the Supporting Beginning Teachers Community are encouraged to attend any of the Beginning Teachers Community virtual sessions that are offered 4-5:30PM on multiple dates. When submitting the registration form, you may indicate which of these virtual sessions you wish to attend.
