GOCSD is excited to congratulate the newly announced Missouri Commissioner of Education, Dr. Karla Eslinger. She has served as superintendent in two GOCSD districts, Ava and West Plains. She has a heart for students and classroom teachers, because of her previous service as an elementary teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent. Her experience as Assistant Commissioner, Senior Analyst AEM and Senator gives her a full view perspective of how best to improve and promote public education. She will begin the new position June 2024. GOCSD is #TeacherProud to have a SWMO educator leading our state.
