We're excited to announce that the GOCSD Board of Directors has appointed Patty Robertson and Jenifer Richardson to share the role of Southeast Missouri Professional Learning Coordinator!

Patty and Jenifer bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to this role, and their collaborative approach will ensure high-quality professional development opportunities for our members in the Southeast Missouri region.

In their new roles starting on July 1st, Patty and Jenifer will be responsible for:

  • Developing and coordinating high-quality professional learning events for our Southeast Missouri members

  • Assisting our Director of Professional Learning with supporting all of our members and implementing our strategic plan

  • Broadening the use of our On-Demand Professional Learning Catalog

We are confident that Patty and Jenifer's expertise will be a valuable asset to the GOCSD team. Please join us in welcoming them both!


Jenifer Richardson

Jenifer Richardson retired from the Poplar Bluff R-1 School District after devoting 25 years to the district. Throughout her career, Jenifer served in various roles, including Physical Education Teacher, Dean of Students, and Elementary Principal. After retirement, her passion for education continues to inspire as she has worked as an independent consultant for the past two years, equipping new teachers with valuable tools and resources to support success in the classroom. Instilling a love for learning in both students and educators has been a passion of Jenifer’s throughout her journey in education. In her free time, she cherishes spending time with her husband Brandon, and their three children Jake, Kade, and Ava.


Patty Robertson

Mrs. Patty Robertson has dedicated 32 years of service to the Poplar Bluff School District, serving as classroom teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Assistant Superintendent. She is most proud of the district’s monumental commitment to developing culture, creating structures for collaboration, and expanding opportunities for teachers and leaders to learn from one another. She fully believes that professional learning is the cornerstone of a successful and empowered teaching force and looks forward to helping coordinate opportunities for member districts to engage.

During her career, Mrs. Robertson served on the Learning Forward Missouri Board of Directors for 6 years and has served on DESE’s Committee of Practitioners and Assessment Work Group. She is a member of the Missouri Association of School Administrators (MASA), the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), and the Southeast Missouri Superintendents Association. She is an active member of the Poplar Bluff Community Resource Council and has served as the board secretary for Boys and Girls Club of the Heartland for 14 years.
