It's Teacher Proud Tuesday, and we're shaking things up today! Every educator knows it takes a village, and we're so grateful for the passionate team that makes it all possible. This month, we especially want to recognize one of our VIPs - our October MV MVP Brian Parrish, MVR5 District Business Manager. Thank you, Brian, for your tireless dedication to our faculty and staff and for making it a GREAT DAY TO BE A MTNEER!


Perry County School District 32

Alexis Doza

Alexis Doza, 2nd Grade Teacher, Perryville Primary Center

Mrs. Doza was nominated for recognition by two District 32 parents, who said:

  • "Mrs. Doza made a positive impact on my daughter and I. When my daughter was struggling she made her feel special and gave her support that made her second grade year end in a positive note."

  • "Mrs. Doza has shown immense kindness and thinks outside the box to help students. Mrs. Doza has gone above and beyond to help (child's name) in areas where he is struggling, thinking outside the box to help motivate him."

Rachel Likert

Rachel Likert, Social Studies Teacher, Perry County Middle School

Ms. Likert's nominator said:

  • "Ms. Likert goes above and beyond in her role as a sixth-grade social studies teacher, consistently bringing history to life and seeking new ways to engage her students. She builds strong, meaningful connections with her students both in the classroom and through her work with the color guard, where her passion and dedication shine just as brightly. Her commitment to our students and school community is truly inspiring."

For October, we honor Ms. Naomi Meinershagen from Madge T. James Kindergarten Center. Mrs. Hendrick, Principal at Madge T. James, noted, "Ms. Meinershagen brings enthusiasm and energy to her classroom, fostering a fun and engaging learning environment. Her ability to address the diverse needs of her students and commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive atmosphere make her an invaluable member of our Madge family."

The purpose of the Teacher Proud Tuesday campaign is to lift up and celebrate the profession and those currently serving, to recruit and inspire candidates to consider teaching, and to inform communities, business leaders and policymakers on the importance of public education.
