We are looking forward to our GOCSD Innovation Summit that is scheduled for August 5th and 6th at the Branson Convention Center. Our Innovation Summit Committee has been working so hard to create a wonderful professional learning experience for our member schools. The Registration Site provides details about the keynote speakers, breakout sessions and vendors. We do recognize the pandemic continues to create concern and appreciate how our districts have been so diligent in ensuring safe, COVID protocols and even vaccination opportunities for their educators. However, with the increased infection rates in southwest Missouri and the continued changing context around the pandemic, we do realize that our educators have different and very personal perspectives on this situation. While we are hopeful that most educators will still be comfortable in attending the conference, we realize those who are not vaccinated may want to consider taking precautions due to the large number of attendees expected. Just a reminder of the GOCSD Board policy which is no refund on cancellations. But, if a registered individual is unable or uncomfortable in attending, we welcome and encourage the district to identify another educator to participate. We encourage our attendees to be proactive and let your administrators know ASAP if you have concerns about participation. We wanted to also share how the Branson Convention Center continues to closely monitor the latest developments regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) globally and any potential impact it may have on their day-to-day operations. In response to growing awareness and concern, the Branson Convention Center continues to follow the precautionary guidelines of the CDC and other public health organizations. We are looking forward to seeing and learning with all of you in a few weeks. Safe travels to Branson.
